Update: Detected that it works for images hosted outside the Google Apps:  This is for testing purposes under the Google Sites Help Group thread [Animated GIF image Enable for Google Site]. The image within the page inside Google Sites can not be animated.  However, if you access it directly or embed in another sources, it will work, but only from its real location: http://5667511588968604554-a-brunobraga-net-s-sites.googlegroups.com/a/brunobraga.net/personal/sites-help/9e87769c45ac095f/anim_26.gif This link also takes you to the same image, but it is not animated: http://www.brunobraga.net/sites-help/9e87769c45ac095f/anim_26.gif Just to leave documented the issue.
